📖 SYNOPSIS
Set in 2070, "The Crimson Whale" depicts a world devastated by natural disasters, with Korea in anarchy and Busan overrun by refugees. Ha-jin, a young street dealer, secretly possesses the ability to communicate with whales. Her life changes when she encounters Baek Sang-won, a one-armed woman who invites her to join a gules whale hunt. Initially hesitant due to painful memories, Ha-jin eventually accepts.
As she integrates with the crew, Ha-jin develops friendships and becomes increasingly intrigued by the crimson whale. She discovers that each crew member carries a sorrowful past. The crew's intense drive to kill the gules whale and the madness in their eyes trigger Ha-jin's own trauma, leading her to experience a similar descent into madness. The anime explores themes of survival, trauma, and the human cost of a world in crisis.
