📖 SYNOPSIS
Imagine a healer so good he can patch you up in an instant — which naturally means his adventurer party kicks him out for being "useless." Classic. Growing up poor in the slums of the Kingdom of Herzeth, this guy taught himself everything about healing without any formal training or license, and he's arguably better than anyone who went through the official system. But instead of chasing recognition or revenge after getting booted, he takes a different path. He rescues an elf slave named Lily and decides to open an underground clinic, treating the people society has thrown away — the ones no licensed healer would touch.
This 12-episode TV series from Studio Makaria leans into something you don't see enough in fantasy anime: the healer actually being the main character, not just the person standing in the back keeping the hero alive. The setting has a grittier edge than you might expect, digging into class divides, the kingdom's underworld, and what it means to help people when the system itself doesn't want them helped. The dynamic between Zenos and Lily carries a lot of the emotional weight early on, grounded in mutual respect rather than anything forced.
If you liked the kicked-from-the-party setup of The Healer Who Was Banished From His Party, or the elf companion dynamic in An Archdemon's Dilemma, this hits similar notes but with a more street-level, almost Robin Hood kind of feel. It's quieter than most fantasy fare, and that works in its favor.
