📖 SYNOPSIS
Raised in a place called the Disabled Elderly Village under the watch of nine old people who are clearly hiding some serious power, Qin Mu lived a simple life. His life is simple — herd cows, train with the elders, don't ask too many questions. Then one day, the cows start talking. That's the moment everything shifts. Turns out the world outside the village, a forsaken land called Daxu, is full of things the elders were probably shielding him from: demons that ride in on darkness, ancient divine bones scattered through ruins, dragons guarding their young, and somewhere out there, a giant ship that literally drags the sun across the sky. The world-building here is dense in a good way — mythology layered on top of martial arts cultivation, with each elder hinting at a different corner of a much bigger story. Qin Mu himself is solid as a lead, curious and gutsy without being reckless, and the dynamic between him and the village elders gives the early episodes a warm but mysterious energy. The animation from Sparkly Key holds up well during the fight sequences, which lean into fluid choreography rather than just flashy effects. If you liked the cultivation progression in Soul Land or the sprawling fantasy scope of Battle Through the Heavens, this ONA is worth picking up. Martial Universe fans will also find familiar ground here, though the tone skews a bit more mythological and strange. It's a slow burn at the start, but the world it's building feels like it has real depth behind it.
