Takane's Bicycle

📖 SYNOPSIS

Takasumi Takane, an 11-year-old boy, desperately wants a new bicycle, but his exam results place him outside the top 100. He lies to his mother, claiming a better score, and destroys his answer sheets. His problems escalate when he breaks the old bicycle intended for his younger sister, Tamaki, angering her. While searching for his missing dog, Chris, Takane meets Yoyogi, who somehow has his falsified answer sheet. Yoyogi proposes a trade, demanding something Takane doesn't need, and Takane offers Tamaki. When Tamaki arrives, Yoyogi transforms and swallows her. Realizing his mistake, Takane must now race Yoyogi, using his broken bicycle, to win back his sister and undo the strange transformation. The story explores themes of sibling relationships, consequences of lies, and the value of family.
