Sorairo Utility (TV)
Oshimeter
Synopsis
A high schooler whose entire life revolves around a mobile gacha game, Minami Aoba is blindsided when the game announces it's shutting down. Suddenly she's got no hobby, no social life, and the slow realization that she's basically sleepwalked through her entire first year. She tries joining different sports clubs, but she's genuinely terrible at everything. Then one afternoon she wanders into a golf driving range and meets Haruka Akane, a part-timer who used to be a serious amateur golfer. Haruka hands her a utility iron, and something clicks. Sorairo Utility is a 12-episode original TV series from Yostar Pictures that takes golf — a sport anime almost never touches — and builds a quiet, warm story around it. The animation puts real care into depicting actual golf mechanics, which gives it a grounded feel even when the tone stays light and easygoing. At its core, this is about a girl figuring out what she actually wants to spend her time on, and the friendships that form along the way. If you liked the sports-meets-personal-growth energy of Harukana Receive or wanted something with the golf setting of Birdie Wing but in a more relaxed, slice-of-life key, this fits that space well. It's not trying to be intense or dramatic — it's just a genuine story about finding your thing when you thought you didn't have one.
