The animation during fights is genuinely impressive, and Hiroyuki Sawano's soundtrack hits exactly the way you'd expect from the guy behind Attack on Titan's score. The whole appeal is watching someone go from rock bottom to something terrifying, one quest at a time. If you liked the underdog-to-overpowered arc in The Rising of the Shield Hero or the game-like mechanics in Sword Art Online and Overlord, this scratches a similar itch but with a darker, grittier edge. It moves fast, looks great, and the leveling system keeps you hooked on what Jin-Woo unlocks next.
