Shinsei Galverse
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Ages before the story begins, a sacred star called the Mother Planet kept the whole galaxy in check — then it exploded, and everything went sideways. From the debris, new beings called the Galverse were born, each carrying fragments of that lost world's power. That's the setup for Shinsei Galverse, a single ONA episode that drops you into the middle of an interstellar war through the eyes of Zero, a girl who wakes up on a battle-scarred planet called Amatera with no memories and no idea who she is. She crosses paths with Ring, a resistance leader fighting back against an occupying imperial force, and things escalate fast as Zero starts uncovering her connection to the Galverse and whatever cosmic fallout destroyed the Mother Planet in the first place. The vibe here is distinctly retro — think 90s aesthetic filtered through modern animation tech. If you grew up on Sailor Moon's magical girl energy or Ghost in the Shell's sci-fi grit, this sits somewhere in that overlap, with amnesiac identity drama that gives off early Neon Genesis Evangelion tension. The production has a cool community-driven angle too, with fan contributions baked into the process, and the soundtrack features work from ☆Taku Takahashi. It's one episode from Studio S.o.K, so the time commitment is basically nothing. Worth checking out if you're into space opera with style and want to see where this thing is headed.
