Sei Michaela Gakuen Hyouryuuki

Synopsis
Aiko Mimura arrives at Saint Michaela Academy carrying more baggage than most — literal scars that look disturbingly like severed wings, etched across her back. The school runs on rigid religious discipline, and Aiko doesn't fit. She gravitates toward other students who push back against the rules, and that friction with the administration builds into something darker than your typical school drama. There's a mystery threading through the whole thing about who Aiko actually is, and the hints are unsettling enough to keep you curious. The setup pulls from two directions at once: intimate character tension inside the school walls, and something bigger and more supernatural lurking underneath. It's a 2-episode OVA from 1990, so it moves fast and doesn't waste time on setup. If you've sat with something like Bible Black or Angel Sanctuary and wanted more of that gothic religious atmosphere mixed with personal rebellion, this scratches a similar itch. The short runtime means it's more mood and suggestion than full story payoff, but the tone is genuinely interesting — the kind of dark that feels earned rather than gratuitous. Worth a watch if early 90s OVAs with atmosphere and ambiguity are your thing, and you don't need every thread tied up neatly by the end.
