ReDreaming Angel
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Imagine an idol group trying to launch their grand 'Dazzling Performance Project' except one member keeps falling asleep mid-pep-talk and their first venue is filled with... well, whatever's there apparently doesn't qualify as a real audience. That's ReDreaming Angel in a nutshell — a music short from Studio Tumble based on a game, and it leans hard into the absurdity of chasing idol stardom when literally nothing is going your way. The core dynamic is this odd-couple pairing between a relentlessly ambitious idol who treats every moment like a stadium concert and her partner who can barely stay conscious. Instead of the polished, glamorous rise-to-fame arc you'd expect, you get a surreal, self-aware comedy where the girls declare victory just for technically performing in front of... something. It's got that same energy as Phantom of the Idol, where the gap between idol ambition and idol reality is the whole joke. If you liked the early scrappy underdog vibes of Love Live before things got polished, or the way Zombieland Saga threw its idols into ridiculous situations and just committed to the bit, this hits a similar nerve. At one episode, it's a quick watch that doesn't overstay its welcome. The tone is lighthearted and genuinely funny rather than trying to make you care deeply about anything — just two mismatched idols stumbling through their first bizarre gig together, and honestly, that's enough.
