I didn't really expect Emilia to be re-centered in this episode. We hadn't seen her in full for a while, but the series deciding to show her as "human", struggling with the villagers and such, prevent her from feeling like a damsel in distress or some mythical individual that Subaru constantly chases. It made her character instantly charming!
