What I really enjoyed about this episode is that our perspective changes on Return by Death, we tend to look at it as an advantage but Subaru's breakdown shows that there is an emotional toll and his ability makes him feel isolated. Him finally being able to say his ability lets the audience experience the relief he earned!
Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 2

Synopsis
Subaru Natsuki's worst superpower has always been rewinding death — he dies horribly, retains every memory of it, and can't tell anyone. Season 2 takes that premise and cranks the psychological screws even tighter. After returning to Irlam village expecting some hard-earned peace, Subaru and Emilia find nothing but devastation left by the Sin Archbishops. Worse, his Return by Death can't fix what's already broken. The group heads to a place called the Sanctuary looking for answers, and that's where things get really interesting — Subaru meets Echidna, the Witch of Greed, who pulls him into trials that force him to confront the parts of himself he's been running from. This 13-episode TV series from White Fox leans hard into the psychological side of Re:Zero. Where season one balanced action with Subaru's suffering, season two sits in the despair and makes you watch him try to claw his way out. The character writing here is genuinely impressive — Subaru, Emilia, and several side characters get arcs that feel earned rather than manufactured. If you liked the time-loop tension of Steins;Gate or the emotional weight of Erased, this hits similar notes but with a fantasy setting and a protagonist who's deeply, messily human. Fair warning though: this is the first half of the second season, so it's building toward something rather than wrapping things up. But the journey is worth it.
