📖 SYNOPSIS
"Rail of the Star" follows a young Japanese actress reflecting on her childhood in Korea during wartime. Chiko's life is marked by tragedy, including her father's departure for war and the death of her baby sister, Miko. She witnesses the injustice of Japanese rule and the persecution of Koreans, including the firing of her beloved maid, Ohana. As the war concludes, the roles reverse, and Chiko's family becomes unwanted. The arrival of the Russians forces them to destroy evidence of their past. Facing imminent danger, they embark on a perilous journey, fleeing over the 38th Parallel towards freedom, guided by the North Star and aided by a Korean man despite his own tragic history.
