Synopsis
At 29, office worker Sayaka Tsuneda has built her entire emotional support system around one male idol: Riku Kirigawa. Then Riku shows up at her advertising agency in a suit, using his real name, and she's assigned to train him. The premise writes itself, and the show knows it. What makes this work is the specific awkwardness of being a devoted fan who suddenly has to act professional around the person she's been cheering for from the audience. Every interaction carries this layer of "please don't find out I own all your merch" energy, and the series mines that tension for both comedy and genuine romantic moments. Each episode runs about two minutes in a vertical smartphone format, so the whole 30-episode run is basically one sitting if you want it to be. The bite-sized structure actually suits the story — you get these quick, punchy scenes that build the relationship gradually without dragging anything out. It's a josei romance aimed at adult women, so the emotional beats feel grounded in real workplace dynamics rather than high school fantasy. If you liked the obsessive fandom energy of If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die, or the idol-meets-coworker setup of Oshi ga Jōshi ni Narimashite, this hits a similar sweet spot. It's low commitment, warm, and honest about how messy it is when the line between fan and partner starts to blur.
