In a surprising turn of events, a high school student finds himself caught in a complicated love triangle, becoming a reluctant advisor to two girls who are not interested in him.

📖 SYNOPSIS

Fully convinced he's the protagonist of a romantic comedy, Jouro watches as two beautiful girls ask him out on separate dates over the weekend — the student council president and his childhood friend — and he's already mentally picking out which one he'll end up with. Then both of them confess they're in love with his best friend and want Jouro's help getting closer to him. That's the first five minutes. What makes this 12-episode TV series from Connect worth your time is how it handles what comes next. Jouro isn't some oblivious nice guy — he's calculating, petty, and fully aware of romantic comedy tropes, which he tries to exploit for his own benefit. But then Pansy, the quiet library girl nobody pays attention to, tells him she likes him and, worse, that she sees right through his act. The whole show is built around dismantling the harem setup it presents you with. Characters who seem like stock archetypes keep revealing layers, and the plot twists come frequently enough that you genuinely can't predict where things are heading. If you liked the cynical protagonist energy of My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU or enjoyed how Nisekoi played with fake relationships, this hits a similar nerve but leans harder into self-aware comedy. It's also got some of that puzzle-box relationship mapping from The World God Only Knows, where every character has an angle. The humor is sharp, the bench scenes are iconic, and nobody in this show is who they seem to be at first.

✨ MUST WATCH IF...

You love harem romcoms that actively mock and subvert their own genre tropes
Scheming, two-faced protagonists like Joro are more fun than generic nice-guy leads for you
Recurring gags — like the legendary Bench-kun — landing over 12 episodes sounds appealing
You're into character-driven twists where everyone's hiding their real personality and motives

❌ SKIP IF...

You want a conclusive romance ending — this season wraps on a cliffhanger needing the OVA
Average Connect studio animation without standout visuals or dynamic scenes will bug you
Too many new characters crammed into 12 episodes makes the back half feel unfocused
