One Piece in Love
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Luffy Yamamoto, Nami Koyama, and Usopp Nakatsugawa are three high schoolers who share their names with the Straw Hat Pirates, which is either a cosmic coincidence or their parents had very specific taste in manga. Naturally, they form a One Piece fan club. Less naturally, their actual lives start mirroring the series in the dumbest possible ways — except instead of sailing the Grand Line, they're navigating crushes, awkward confessions, and the politics of a three-person club where one member is way too into One Piece and the other two are trying to have a relationship. Koisuru One Piece is a 5-episode ONA from Toei Animation, adapted from a gag manga spinoff that basically asks: what if One Piece references were the entire foundation of your social life? It's short-form and vertical, built for quick watches on your phone, and each episode leans hard into parody without requiring you to be caught up on 1,100+ chapters — though the jokes definitely hit harder if you are. The vibe sits somewhere between Lucky Star's obsessive otaku humor and Gintama's willingness to just riff on whatever it feels like. If you liked Hayate the Combat Butler's meta comedy but want something way more bite-sized, this is a good fit. It's light, it's silly, and it knows exactly what it is — a love letter to One Piece fans wrapped in a rom-com that doesn't take itself seriously for a single second.
