"Moyashimon Returns" picks up directly where the previous season concluded. Professor Itsuki's Fermentation Cellar and laboratory are now operational, ready for the students to begin their studies. The story centers on the students' exploration of fermentation processes. Sawaki Tadayasu, possessing the extraordinary ability to see and communicate with microbes, plays a crucial role in their endeavors. The group will use their knowledge and Sawaki's unique perspective to process and create various fermented products. The series focuses on the practical application of fermentation techniques, with a particular emphasis on the production of traditional Japanese staples such as soy sauce and sake.
