Synopsis

Landing a dream gig as a sports news announcer for a program called SpoLuna is just the beginning for Mina Tsukuda. Her first big assignment takes her to a baseball stadium, where — naturally — aliens show up and start causing problems. A mysterious little creature informs her that she has the power to transform into a rabbit-eared magical girl warrior, part of a team called the Rabbit Force whose entire job is protecting Earth's sporting events from extraterrestrial interference. Yes, that is the actual premise. Aliens are messing with sports, and magical girls have to stop them. It sounds completely unhinged, and it kind of is, but in a fun way. The show leans hard into the silliness — Mina has to juggle her on-camera reporter duties with her secret life as a bunny-themed superhero, and the contrast is where most of the comedy comes from. It originated as a spin-off from a live-action Japanese drama where the fictional 'Mina' anime existed as something an otaku character was obsessed with, so there's a layer of self-aware parody baked into its DNA. Gonzo produced it in 2007 across 11 episodes, so it moves quickly without overstaying its welcome. If you liked the chaotic magical girl comedy energy of Nurse Witch Komugi, or want something lighter than Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha with more absurdist humor, this scratches a similar itch. It's goofy and a little ecchi, so know what you're signing up for.
