📖 SYNOPSIS

Waking in a prison with no memories, a weird talking rabbit tells you you're the warden now, and ten inmates are waiting for you to judge whether they deserve forgiveness or punishment. Each of them has caused someone's death. That's the setup for MILGRAM, and it only gets more unsettling from there.

Es, the amnesiac protagonist, has to dig into the minds of each prisoner to understand what they did and why. But here's where it gets genuinely interesting — each inmate's story is told through music videos. Not cutscenes, not dialogue dumps. Actual produced songs with visuals that piece together their crimes, motivations, and psychologies like a puzzle you have to solve yourself. And then the audience literally votes on whether each prisoner is guilty or innocent, which shapes how the story continues. It's not a gimmick either; the results change character interactions and future music videos in meaningful ways.

The whole thing sits in this uncomfortable space where you're forced to weigh intent against outcome, trauma against accountability. There aren't easy answers, and the series doesn't pretend there are.

If you liked the moral dilemmas in Death Parade or the psychological tension of Danganronpa, this hits a similar nerve. Fans of Psycho-Pass and its questions about who gets to judge others will find a lot to chew on here too. It's dark, it's layered, and it respects your ability to think for yourself.

✨ MUST WATCH IF...

You love short-form music videos that double as psychological character studies—each one's around four minutes
Interactive storytelling hooks you—voting on prisoners' fates actually shapes the narrative direction
Moral ambiguity's your thing—ten inmates blur the lines between justified and unforgivable actions
You enjoy piecing together non-linear narratives through visual clues and lyrical symbolism

❌ SKIP IF...

You want a traditional anime with full episodes—this is a music video project by OTOIRO
Ambiguous storytelling frustrates you—outcomes can feel predetermined despite audience voting mechanics
Dark themes like murder and psychological trauma aren't something you're comfortable sitting with
