Synopsis

For one secret year, Yuu Morisawa lived a double life as Creamy Mami, a teenage pop idol with magically borrowed looks and a voice the whole country fell for. That chapter closed with Mami's final concert — but two months later, rumors are circulating that she's coming back. Someone called 'Project M' is involved, and Yuu, who knows better than anyone that Mami shouldn't exist anymore, wants to figure out what's actually going on. She pulls together her friends and they start digging. The whole setup has that classic 80s idol-drama energy — light conspiracy, mild chaos, and a romantic undercurrent that's been simmering since the original series. This particular OVA opens with a recap of the full series before delivering about 40 minutes of new story, so it works whether you're a returning fan or someone catching up for the first time. The hand-drawn animation has that warm, slightly soft quality that Studio Pierrot's early work is known for, and the soundtrack leans hard into the bubbly pop sound of the era. If you've seen Magical Emi or Fancy Lala and liked the blend of idol life with transformation magic, this fits right into that pocket. It's a gentle, romantic-comedic send-off that doesn't overstay its welcome — one episode, a familiar world, and a mystery just big enough to keep things moving.
