Synopsis
Known only as The Trainer, a mysterious man runs a very particular business — he takes on clients and shapes them into whatever their deepest desires demand. No backstory required, no questions asked. Just transformation, and a price. That's the setup for Jinshin Yuugi, a 2-episode OVA from 2001 that leans harder into character psychology than you might expect from a hentai title. Each episode follows a different woman who comes to The Trainer with her own reasons and her own emotional baggage. The narrative actually takes time to sketch out who these people are before things get explicit, which gives the whole thing a slightly unusual weight compared to most titles in the genre. It's not deep drama, but it's not purely mechanical either — there's a tension between identity and desire running through both episodes that keeps it from feeling completely throwaway. The animation holds up reasonably well for the era, and the character designs are clean and detailed. If you've already worked through something like Bible Black or Discipline: Record of a Crusade and want something with a slightly more introspective framing, this scratches a similar itch. It won't change your life, but for a two-episode OVA adapted from a visual novel, it delivers a more layered experience than the bare-bones premise suggests.
