Synopsis

At 31 years old, former gymnast Uramichi Omota works as the exercise instructor on a children's morning TV show called 'Together with Mama.' He smiles, he stretches, he teaches kids to move their bodies — and then he casually drops soul-crushing truths about adulthood on live television. Things like 'adults lie all the time' or 'your dreams probably won't come true.' The kids just stare. The crew scrambles. It's incredible. This 13-episode TV series from Studio Blanc. is basically the question 'what if a deeply burned-out adult had to perform happiness for a living?' turned into a comedy. The whole cast is struggling — Utano, the show's singer, is desperate to get married; the two guys in the rabbit and bear mascot suits are quietly falling apart inside their costumes. Everyone on this children's show is one bad day away from a breakdown, and the contrast between the bright pastel set and the existential dread radiating off every adult in the room never stops being funny. The humor hits different if you've ever had to fake enthusiasm at a job. It's got the satirical bite of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, the rapid-fire gag energy of The Disastrous Life of Saiki K., and the deadpan absurdity of Arakawa Under the Bridge. If you're an adult who's ever smiled through the pain at work, Uramichi is going to feel uncomfortably relatable — and that's exactly what makes it land.

Episode is super funny as always, Uramichi is too relatable once you're an adult. All the boys bonding at the company trip was honestly so wholesome and made me chuckle.
It's funny that the show gives a good representation of what it's like. Getting up every day and putting on a good show for everyday work life. its good that the character still puts on a good face for the kids, I respect that they still have respect for the kids.
I can’t help but be genuinely annoyed by derekida (the director) in this episode, he’s so ridiculous it leaves me speechless throughout. But again I can’t help but notice how it mirrors the ridiculous requests a boss might make to employees in general and it’s heartbreaking haha
