Koala's Diary
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Koala-san, a tender soul with a diary always close by, writes about daily life. That's it. That's the whole premise, and honestly, it's kind of exactly what you need sometimes. Koala Enikki is an ONA based on a 4-koma manga, following Koala-san, a gentle soul living in a quiet village, writing about each day — the good ones, the bad ones, the ones where nothing much happens at all. The cast is small and cozy: there's Kuma-chan (a stuffed bear), Karasu-san (a crow friend), Emu-san, and Hedgehog-san. Early episodes cover things like afternoon tea and helping a friend out. No drama, no stakes, no villain monologues. Just a koala who treats every single day like it matters. Studio Mother gives it this soft, delicate visual style that fits the mood perfectly, and the theme song 'Niji to' by Punipunidenki featuring Kan Sano sets the tone before a single line of dialogue lands. The episodes are short, so you can watch one between tasks and feel slightly better about existence. If you grew up watching Adventures of the Little Koala or Noozles, this hits a similar nostalgic warmth but in a modern format. Fans of Mikan Enikki will recognize the diary-style storytelling. It's not trying to be anything other than what it is — a quiet, wholesome show about paying attention to ordinary days. Sometimes that's enough.
