Knight Hunters OVA
Oshimeter
Synopsis
A flower shop serves as cover for four assassins and their real work. That's the setup for Weiß Kreuz, and this two-episode OVA drops you into a darker, nastier corner of that world than the original series dares to go. Aya, Omi, Ken, and Yohji — the team known as Weiß — get tangled up with a pair of siblings hunting the people who murdered their parents and got away with it. The sister hacks military databases. The brother handles the more violent end of things. And Weiß, caught in the middle, has to figure out where revenge ends and justice begins — if there's even a difference anymore. The moral weight here is real. These aren't clean heroes making clean choices, and the OVA doesn't pretend otherwise. The animation is noticeably sharper than the TV run, and the atmosphere stays tense throughout. If you've watched Darker than Black and liked the idea of government-adjacent killers wrestling with their own ethics, this scratches a similar itch. Fans of Nightwalker: The Midnight Detective will recognize that same brooding, late-90s action drama energy. It's short — just two episodes — so it doesn't overstay its welcome, but it leaves an impression. Best experienced after the main series so the character relationships land properly, though it won't lose you completely if you're coming in fresh.
