Aihara's "Karma," a 1977 experimental short, utilizes water as its primary subject. The film is entirely hand-drawn and employs a 16mm camera with a blue filter, creating a distinctive visual style. The animation begins with the appearance of minuscule specks, reminiscent of falling snow, that populate the screen. These specks then undergo a gradual transformation, increasing in size and coalescing into bubbles.
