So the title is pretty literal — they're basically cheat characters from the jump.

What keeps this 12-episode TV series from being just another power fantasy is that it follows both of them equally. Taichi and Rin each get their own training arcs under their mentor Lemia, and their dynamic as longtime friends adjusting to a world where they're suddenly the strongest people around gives the show a different texture than a solo protagonist story would. The magic system is structured around elemental categories, so fights have a logic to them even when the outcome isn't really in doubt.
