All Nagisa wants is to be a professional wrestler. That's it — that's her whole deal. Then an alien robot shows up, straps itself to her body, and informs her she's now Earth's last line of defense against a pair of siblings who've been eating planets for breakfast across the galaxy. She did not sign up for this. That reluctance is actually what makes her fun to watch, because unlike most chosen heroes, Nagisa spends real time just being annoyed about the whole situation before she finds her footing. She's joined by three other girls who also bond with sentient armor — a rock singer, an idol, and a quieter classmate — each bringing a different energy to the team dynamic. The setup is essentially magical girl logic wearing mecha clothing: transformation sequences, personality-driven power suits, and an alien threat that does not mess around. Cross and Chaos are genuinely threatening villains, which gives the two-episode runtime some actual stakes. Kenji Kawai's soundtrack keeps things grounded even when the action gets chaotic. If you have history with Fight!! Iczer-One or the retrofuturism of Bubblegum Crisis, this fits neatly into that mid-90s girls-in-armor tradition. Fans of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha who want something shorter and scrappier might also find it worth an afternoon.
