Ichitaka's Delusion Diary
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Completely, helplessly in love with his classmate Iori Yoshizuki, Ichitaka Seto cannot say a single word about it. Too nervous, too self-conscious, too stuck in his own head. So instead of confessing, he does what a lot of people do: he daydreams. Elaborate, ridiculous, romantically charged daydreams. This 5-episode special from 2005 is basically a collection of those fantasies, each one a short dive into the very active imagination of a shy high school guy who's better at dreaming than doing. The tone is light and comedic, leaning into the awkward humor of adolescent crushes rather than anything too serious. It's ecchi, so expect some fanservice woven into those daydream sequences — that's kind of the whole premise. The setup is simple and the episodes are short, which makes it an easy watch if you're in the mood for something low-stakes and goofy. If you enjoyed I"s Pure or Ichigo 100%, this covers similar territory — unrequited high school feelings, wish-fulfillment fantasies, and the general chaos of being a teenager with a crush. It's not trying to be deep. It knows exactly what it is: a handful of comedic romantic vignettes built around one guy's overactive imagination. Worth a look if you want something breezy and don't mind a bit of fanservice mixed into your rom-com formula.
