Hyperventilation
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Even as a child, Lee Myeongyi was the kid who can't breathe right — literally. His pneumothorax means collapsed lungs, hyperventilating episodes in the middle of class, and sitting out gym while everyone else runs laps. He's used to being stared at, whispered about, treated like a burden. What he didn't expect was Han Seonho, the class president who actually treated him like a person. Years later, at a high school reunion, they meet again — and everything that went unspoken back then starts pushing its way to the surface. This ONA is only 6 episodes long, with each one clocking in around 3 minutes, so it's a genuinely quick watch. But don't mistake short for shallow. The watercolor-style animation does a lot of heavy lifting, and the series leans hard into body language and silence rather than exposition. It's the kind of story where a look carries more weight than a speech. The tone is quiet, a little aching, and emotionally honest about vulnerability and the weird gravity of reconnecting with someone from your past. If you liked Doukyuusei or Given and wanted something even more stripped back and intimate, this scratches that itch. Fans of Yuri on Ice's emotional undertow will find familiar ground here too. It's not a long commitment, but it lingers.
