Set in the space age on the commercial planet Magracia, "Hoshi ni Negai wo: Fantastic Cat" follows Lilly, a young girl captivated by Hikari, a new student in her class. Hikari, despite being the same age as Lilly, possesses a maturity that sets her apart from her peers, leading to an air of aloofness and a lack of friendships. Lilly observes Hikari from afar, yearning for a chance to connect. Their ordinary school days are disrupted when a strange, cat-like creature appears, introducing an element of the fantastical and promising to change their lives.
