Synopsis

Don't let that clumsy demeanor fool you — Nube Nueno may look like your average bumbling elementary school teacher who trips over his own feet and can't keep his classroom under control. Except his left hand is literally sealed with a demon inside it, and he uses it to exorcise the vengeful spirits that keep showing up around Doumori Elementary. This 13-episode TV series follows Nube as the homeroom teacher of Class 5-3, where his students keep running into supernatural trouble rooted in Japanese mythology and urban legends. Early on, he has to figure out why transfer student Hiroshi Tateno keeps snapping at his classmates, and the answer involves something way darker than childhood anger issues. The show walks this tightrope between genuinely creepy horror setups and comedic moments that keep things from getting too heavy — think monster-of-the-week with actual stakes, where the teacher is the one doing the fighting instead of the students. Studio KAI gave the 2025 version a clean modern look while keeping the spirit of the original '90s manga intact, and Evan Call's soundtrack does a lot of work shifting between eerie and fun. If you grew up on Yu Yu Hakusho or GeGeGe no Kitaro, this hits a similar nerve — supernatural action with heart, aimed at a younger demographic but not afraid to go dark when the story calls for it. Fans of Bleach's spirit-fighting premise might find something to like here too, just in a smaller, more episodic package.

You may find that the yokai this time is pretty much the same category on ep 3, although this one is pretty much rigid and malicious. Katsuya has a good character but did a foolish decision at the start. This is my hunch but something/someone is deliberately sabotaging some stuff, I don't have much of a proof but I can feel it 🤔. The episode isn't graphic considering the nature of the yokai and it was an entertaining yet thrilling watch.

What an odd rendition of the Rokurokubi yokai 🤔. There's an odd animation during Nube's running scene at the start but aside from that the overall animation is quite smooth. Nube should really pick his words carefully, it really has caused misunderstanding 😅. This is quite a dumb yet entertaining episode, especially the unique rendition of the yokai Rokurokubi and Miki's overall character.

I really thought that the episode would be a light hearted one, turned out to be horror. The yokai this time is quite graphic, the studio really made it detailed on the focus shot 😅. The ending felt like an ending of a Spooky Kitaro episode, it felt unsettling and creepy.
