Guy: Double Target
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Just about anything standing in his way gets torn through by Guy, and his partner somehow manages to be even worse news for anyone on the receiving end. Set against a grim, futuristic space backdrop, this two-episode OVA from 1988 drops you into a world where a villain named Dr. Vail is cooking up something bad enough that the only people willing — or capable — of stopping him are a pair of soldiers for hire nobody else would want to deal with. It's a dark, grimy little sci-fi story with that unmistakable late-80s AIC animation texture, heavy atmosphere, and a tone that leans into its nastier edges rather than shying away from them. The power dynamic between Guy and his partner carries the whole thing, and the pacing moves fast enough across two episodes that it never overstays its welcome. Fair warning: this sits in hentai territory, so it's not for everyone. If you've gone through something like Blood Reign: Curse of the Yoma or Devil Hunter Yohko and have an appetite for that specific flavor of late-80s adult-oriented dark action, Guy fits right into that niche. It's not a buried classic waiting to be rediscovered — it's a rough, specific product of its era. But if that era is your thing, there's a certain grimy charm here that's hard to replicate.
