The short film, set to air at the Tale of Genji Museum, follows Hana, a modern high school girl who is inexplicably transformed into a cat and transported to the Heian Era. She finds herself in the world of *The Tale of Genji*, the renowned novel of Japanese literature. Guided by the novel's central figure, Hikaru Genji, Hana witnesses the events and emotions that Murasaki Shikibu, the novel's author, so vividly portrayed. The film incorporates scenes inspired by historical sources, including *The Diary of Lady Murasaki*. It also depicts the real-life noble Fujiwara no Michinaga's eagerness to read the novel, even going so far as to steal early drafts from Murasaki Shikibu. The short film blends historical accuracy with fantasy elements.
