Galaxy Angel X
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Every mission turns into a complete disaster for an elite military unit sent across the galaxy to recover ancient artifacts with unknown powers, and it doesn't matter what they do. That's the setup for Galaxy Angel X, the fourth TV series in the Galaxy Angel franchise, and it leans fully into the chaos. The Angel Brigade — a crew of five women with wildly mismatched personalities — is joined by new recruit Chitose Karasuma, who quickly discovers that 'elite unit' is a generous description. Milfeulle is relentlessly cheerful, Ranpha is combative, Mint is calculating, Vanilla is eerily quiet, and Forte treats every situation like a weapons demonstration. None of this helps them actually complete a mission cleanly. The show is purely episodic, each 13-episode run built from short comedic sketches that blend sci-fi settings with absurdist slapstick. There's no overarching drama to track, no tension to sit with — just the team stumbling from one ridiculous scenario to the next across various planets. If you grew up watching Di Gi Charat or Azumanga Daioh and wanted either of those transplanted into space with more explosions, this scratches that same itch. Fans of Galaxy Fraulein Yuna will also feel at home with the all-female cast dynamic. You can drop in without watching previous seasons, though returning fans will appreciate Chitose's addition to the group. It's low-stakes, cheerfully dumb comedy from Madhouse and feel. — the kind of show you watch when you want something that asks nothing of you.
