📖 SYNOPSIS
Raised in a sleepy rural village, a kid named Duanmu Yeyu got saved by the Hell Hunters — an elite squad operating out of Ember City in a post-apocalyptic world — and decided that's exactly what he wants to be when he grows up. So he hops on a bus to the city to chase that dream, except things go sideways almost immediately. Turns out a mysterious figure called Lucifer has sent a bioengineered operative named MIKO-Taiyi to infiltrate Ember City and steal classified data. When Taiyi gets wrecked in a fight with the Hell Hunters and left unconscious, guess who stumbles across him with zero idea what he's actually dealing with? Yeyu's act of kindness kicks off a chain of events that puts the whole city at risk, and from there the show keeps layering in conspiracy, power struggles, and some genuinely slick 3D animation from D.ROCK-ART. The sci-fi world-building has real depth to it — bioengineered agents, shadowy factions, and a city that feels like it's barely holding together under the surface. The soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting too, giving everything this atmospheric weight that fits the setting. It's a 15-episode ONA based on a novel, so the pacing stays tight without dragging. If you liked the post-apocalyptic intrigue of Mi Yu Xingzhe or the mech-driven tension of Feng Huo Zhan Ji, this one scratches a similar itch. Fans of Xing Hai Qishi will also find familiar ground here with the factional politics and action choreography.
