Synopsis

Fresh out of a POW prison, Akuji Yamamoto expects to pick up where he left off — instead, he finds Osaka has completely flipped. Women run everything now: the militias, the churches, the businesses. Men are basically second-class citizens. And Akuji, being the stubborn delinquent he is, decides that's not going to slide. This 2-episode OVA is a spinoff companion to the Daiakuji: The Xena Buster series, based on a visual novel from Shinkuukan. The setup leans hard into its dystopian premise — a gritty, reversed power structure where Akuji and his partner Satsu are pushing back against an entire female-dominated society. The world-building is more developed than you'd expect from something this short, with actual factions and competing power structures rather than just a thin excuse for its content. Being a hentai OVA, the explicit content is the main draw, and the show doesn't pretend otherwise. But the dystopian Osaka backdrop gives it more texture than something like Night Shift Nurses. If you've watched Discipline: The Record of a Crusade and appreciated when these productions actually try to build a world around the premise, Daiakuji operates in similar territory. Bible Black fans might also find the darker, conflict-driven tone familiar. Going in with clear expectations matters here. It's a short watch built around a specific audience, but the setting has genuine personality if that kind of alt-history power-struggle framing appeals to you.
