Clevatess
Oshimeter
Synopsis
A squad of thirteen heroes sets out to slay a Lord of Dark Beasts named Clevatess. They all die. Then Clevatess marches on the human capital and levels it. Pretty standard dark fantasy setup so far, right? Here's where it gets weird: amid the rubble, this terrifying beast lord finds a surviving baby — and decides to raise her. To pull that off, he resurrects one of the heroes he just killed, Alicia Glenfall, and binds her to his service. Now Clevatess is disguised as a human boy named Clen, traveling with a dead hero who has every reason to hate him and an infant who needs a wet nurse. That's your core trio for this 12-episode TV series from Lay-duce. The hook here is really the character dynamics. You've got a monster pretending to be human, a resurrected warrior forced to serve her killer, and a baby that somehow connects them. The moral lines get blurry fast — Clevatess isn't just a rampaging villain, and Alicia isn't just a noble hero anymore. The show leans into that ambiguity without being preachy about it. If you liked the "villain protagonist navigating a human world" angle from Overlord, or the way The Rising of the Shield Hero plays with who's actually good and who's actually terrible, this sits in that same space. It's darker and more introspective than either, though. Based on a web manga, so there's source material to dig into if the ending leaves you wanting more.
