Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Everyone wants to be Saku Chitose — popular, confident, and surrounded by friends with dating prospects everywhere. He's basically the king of his high school in Fukui Prefecture, and he knows it. But here's the thing: maintaining that perfect image is exhausting, and not everyone buys it. Some people straight-up resent him for it. Then his homeroom teacher drops a challenge on him — help Kenta Yamazaki, a shut-in classmate who's completely checked out of school life. Suddenly the guy who has everything figured out on the surface has to deal with someone who wants nothing to do with him or his world. This 13-episode TV series from studio feel. is built on that tension between how people present themselves and what's actually going on underneath. The comedy lands, the romance threads are there, but what keeps you watching is the character work — Saku slowly realizing his "perfect life" philosophy has blind spots, and Kenta forcing him to confront them. If you liked Oregairu's sharp take on high school social hierarchies but want something warmer and less cynical, this hits that sweet spot. There's also a Hyouka-like quality to the pacing — it's not in a rush, letting conversations breathe and relationships develop naturally. Fans of Toradora's blend of comedy and genuine emotional moments will find a lot to connect with here too. It's a school romance that actually cares about why its characters are the way they are.
