The popular and seemingly perfect Saku Chitose is challenged when asked to help a reclusive student, threatening his carefully constructed world.

📖 SYNOPSIS

Everyone wants to be Saku Chitose — popular, confident, and surrounded by friends with dating prospects everywhere. He's basically the king of his high school in Fukui Prefecture, and he knows it. But here's the thing: maintaining that perfect image is exhausting, and not everyone buys it. Some people straight-up resent him for it. Then his homeroom teacher drops a challenge on him — help Kenta Yamazaki, a shut-in classmate who's completely checked out of school life. Suddenly the guy who has everything figured out on the surface has to deal with someone who wants nothing to do with him or his world.

This 13-episode TV series from studio feel. is built on that tension between how people present themselves and what's actually going on underneath. The comedy lands, the romance threads are there, but what keeps you watching is the character work — Saku slowly realizing his "perfect life" philosophy has blind spots, and Kenta forcing him to confront them.

If you liked Oregairu's sharp take on high school social hierarchies but want something warmer and less cynical, this hits that sweet spot. There's also a Hyouka-like quality to the pacing — it's not in a rush, letting conversations breathe and relationships develop naturally. Fans of Toradora's blend of comedy and genuine emotional moments will find a lot to connect with here too. It's a school romance that actually cares about why its characters are the way they are.

✨ MUST WATCH IF...

You want a romcom MC who's already popular and socially skilled — not your typical shy loner
Character-driven arcs exploring loneliness and peer pressure behind a polished social image appeal to you
You enjoy natural, witty dialogue in school settings — feel. studio nails the conversational chemistry here
You're into harem setups where the female cast actually gets meaningful backstory and development

❌ SKIP IF...

A confident protagonist who borders on arrogant across 13 episodes sounds insufferable to you
You want fast romantic progression — central relationships here develop at a deliberately slow pace
Harem tropes with multiple girls orbiting one guy aren't your thing regardless of execution
