📖 SYNOPSIS
A pair of high school girls can't figure out what to do after school. That's it. That's the whole plot of this one-episode ONA, and honestly, it's kind of perfect. Huhuan Shaonu Special: Xiang Zuo de Shi Daodi Shi Shenme (roughly "What Exactly Do You Want to Do?") is a standalone special from the Call Up Girls web manga, animated by A4works and set to drop in 2026. The setup is almost aggressively simple: an energetic girl and her quieter, more affectionate companion hang around their high school after classes end, bouncing between half-baked plans and gentle bickering while the real thing happening — that slow-burn romantic tension between them — simmers just beneath the surface. Nobody confesses. Nobody has a crisis. They just exist together in that warm, golden-hour kind of way, and it works. The comedy comes from small misunderstandings and indecisive back-and-forth, the kind of low-stakes stuff that feels lived-in rather than written. If you liked the cozy Girls Love undertones in Adachi to Shimamura, or the relaxed school vibes of Yuru Yuri but wished someone would just hold hands already, this lands in that sweet spot. It's also got a touch of Sakura Trick's directness, though dialed way back. The animation leans soft and expressive, the kind of thing you put on when you want something gentle and character-driven without needing to commit to a full season. One episode, no drama, just warmth.
