Synopsis

For eleven years, Teppei Takamiya trained under a mysterious woman named Karen, sharpening himself into something far beyond an ordinary kid. He travels to reunite with his older brother Kotarō, a brilliant robotics scientist attending a conference — and within hours, everything goes sideways. A woman named Aramis wipes out the entire conference and abducts Kotarō, and Teppei is suddenly running headfirst into enemy territory alone. That's when he finds B't X: a broken mechanical horse, dormant and abandoned. Teppei's blood revives it, and just like that, the two are bound together. Now he's got a mechanical creature powered by his own blood at his side, and an entire Machine Empire standing between him and his brother. The bond between Teppei and X is the real core of the show — it's not just a kid climbing into a robot. His blood literally keeps X alive, which makes the partnership feel genuinely personal. The mecha designs pull from mythological creatures rather than standard military hardware, so visually it stands apart from the usual fare. If you grew up with Saint Seiya and liked the idea of a lone fighter pushing through overwhelming odds, this scratches that same itch. Fans of Gundam Wing who want something with a tighter emotional focus and a wilder aesthetic might find this a welcome detour. It's a 25-episode TV series from 1996, produced by TMS Entertainment, and it moves at a solid pace without much filler dragging it down.
