Synopsis

In the B-Da Union, a futuristic universe policed by officers called B-Da Cops, Shiro Bom and Ao Bom are basically space police keeping things from falling apart. Their day goes sideways when a spaceship being chased by pirates crashes into the wilderness near them. Inside is Princess Aka Bom, clutching a glowing gem called the Crysmond — and a faction called the Devil Veders wants it badly enough to start a war over it. Two more companions, Kiiro Bom and Kuro Bom, round out the group, and from there it becomes a sci-fi chase story built around protecting something powerful from people who have no business having it. The cast is made up of Bomberman characters reimagined in a B-Daman setting, which gives the whole thing a distinct flavor if you grew up with either franchise. Madhouse handled the animation, and the mecha designs have transformation mechanics that make the action sequences worth watching on their own. It runs 50 episodes, so there's room for the group dynamic to actually develop rather than feeling rushed. If you liked Battle B-Daman or Medabots for their blend of toy-based battles and genuine team chemistry, this sits comfortably in that space. Fans of Idaten Jump who want something with a slightly more cosmic scope might find it interesting too. It came out in 1999, so the production reflects that era, but the energy holds up well enough if you're into classic kids sci-fi adventure.
