Coming off Episode 6's introduction of the passionate Buster Jeek, Episode 7 continues the early-season pattern of expanding Beet's circle of allies and rivals while deepening the Saiga lore. Melmond's arrival as a Saiga collector suggests the series is layering in characters who will complicate Beet's quest for these powerful weapons. This directly sets the stage for Episode 8, "Excellion Blade! The Inherited Soul," which appears to pay off the Saiga thread with significant developments.
