Synopsis

Still shaking off his whole feudal Japan time-travel ordeal, Batman returns to Gotham only to find a giant floating island called Hinomoto hovering over the city where Japan used to be. And running things up there is the Yakuza League — basically evil versions of the Justice League reimagined as superpowered Japanese warlords with zero moral compass. So now Bruce, along with Nightwing, Robin, Red Hood, Batgirl, and Catwoman, has to infiltrate this thing and figure out what's going on before Gotham gets completely consumed. This is a movie sequel to Batman Ninja, and Kamikaze Douga is back with that same wild mix of CGI and hand-drawn animation that made the first one look like nothing else out there. The fight choreography leans hard into samurai and martial arts styles, so every confrontation has real weight and visual flair to it. The whole concept of corrupted Justice League members redesigned with Japanese warrior aesthetics is genuinely cool — it gives the film something to chew on beyond just "Batman punches people in a different setting." If you liked Batman Ninja but wanted them to push the premise even further, this delivers. And if Afro Samurai or Samurai Champloo are your thing — that intersection of stylized action, Japanese history-inspired visuals, and a protagonist who's just outnumbered and outgunned — this hits a similar nerve. It's one movie, about 90 minutes, and it doesn't waste any of that runtime.
