📖 SYNOPSIS
Take anime girls, arm them with the firepower of historical warships, and pit them against alien threats on the open sea — that's the Azur Lane universe in a nutshell, and these CMs might be the best way to experience it. Each commercial is a self-contained short produced by a different heavyweight studio — Madhouse, Trigger, Yostar Pictures, Studio CANDY BOX — meaning every one has its own distinct visual identity and animation style. One might be a slick naval battle with Enterprise cutting through Siren fleets, the next could be Akagi and the Sakura Empire girls just hanging out in something closer to a slice-of-life vignette. The variety is the whole point. You're not committing to a full series here; these are bite-sized pieces that each do their own thing, and the production quality across the board is genuinely impressive for what are technically game advertisements. If you liked Kantai Collection but wanted sharper action choreography, or if Arpeggio of Blue Steel's ship personification concept appealed to you but you also wanted some wholesome downtime between fights, this scratches both itches without asking for a big time investment. Fans of Strike Witches will also recognize the military-girls-with-supernatural-abilities DNA running through everything. The tone swings between action-packed naval warfare and cozy character moments, which keeps things from getting monotonous. Worth checking out even if you've never touched the game — they stand on their own as fun little animated shorts.
