📖 SYNOPSIS

At fifteen, Hana Tabata is a little chubby, bespectacled, freckled, and quietly resigned — she's already decided she's the background character in everyone else's story. She loves shoujo manga and cute things but figures the romance stuff is for other girls — the ones who don't look like her. Every morning she sneaks into the classroom early to arrange flowers before anyone shows up, her one quiet ritual where she doesn't have to worry about being seen. Then one day Yousuke Ueno, the warm, easygoing guy everyone likes, catches her holding a flower up to her face, and instead of it becoming the mortifying moment she expects, he just... talks to her. That small interaction starts pulling Hana out of the walls she's built around herself, and what follows is a slow, genuine exploration of what happens when someone treats you like you matter before you believe it yourself. The floral symbolism running through the show is surprisingly thoughtful — each flower arrangement quietly mirrors where Hana is emotionally, which is a nice touch from SILVER LINK. If you liked the earnest awkwardness of Kimi ni Todoke or the way Horimiya handles characters discovering each other beneath surface impressions, this hits a similar nerve. It's also got the comedic energy of Lovely Complex when it comes to Hana's internal monologue, which is genuinely funny. Thirteen episodes, seinen demographic, adapted from manga. It's a quiet rom-com that earns its emotional moments by being specific and honest about insecurity rather than dramatic about it.

A protagonist who constantly puts herself down for 13 episodes straight will wear you out
You're tired of predictable shoujo romance beats—this doesn't really subvert the formula
You want dynamic action or fast-paced storytelling—this is deliberately slow and dialogue-heavy
