25-Year-Old High School Girl, I Wouldn’t Do This with a Kid
Oshimeter
Synopsis
At 25 years old, Hana Natori gets talked into pretending to be her teenage cousin at high school — which is already a weird situation before things get genuinely complicated. Her aunt is desperate, her cousin refuses to show up, and Hana figures she can pull it off since they look nearly identical. She cannot. Within what feels like no time, her old classmate Okito Kanie — now a history teacher at the same school — recognizes her immediately. Instead of blowing her cover entirely, he keeps her secret, and that's where the real tension starts. The two of them now share something uncomfortable: a lie they're both maintaining, in a setting where the power dynamics are already messy by default. It's an ONA series from 2018, running 12 episodes, adapted from a josei web manga — so the target audience is adult women, and the story leans into that with a tone that's more mature drama than typical school romance. The premise is genuinely odd in a way that keeps you curious about where it goes. If you've watched Omiai Aite wa Oshiego, Tsuyoki na, Mondaiji. or Amai Choubatsu: Watashi wa Kanshu Senyou Pet and you're into that specific flavor of complicated adult romance with built-in tension, this fits that same space. It's not trying to be subtle about what it is, which at least means it commits to its own premise.
