📖 SYNOPSIS
By the year 2200, Japan's birth rate has dropped so low that cats now run the country. They talk, they hold jobs, they go to school — and they have opinions. Sora is a high school girl navigating this cat-dominated society alongside Mugishima-san, her cat who never misses a chance to argue about literally anything. That's the setup for this 12-episode TV series based on a 4-koma manga, and honestly, the charm is in how casually it treats its own absurd premise. There's no grand dystopian tension here. It's just a girl and her bickering cat living their daily lives in a world where felines outnumber humans and nobody thinks that's weird anymore. Each episode runs about three minutes, so you can knock through the whole thing in under an hour. The slice-of-life rhythm works well at that length — short, sweet interactions between Sora and Mugishima-san that lean into dry comedy rather than big emotional swings. The sci-fi setting is more of a backdrop than a plot driver, giving everything a gentle weirdness without ever taking itself too seriously. If you liked the cozy future-world vibes of something like Future Boy Conan, or the oddball animal-character energy of Catnapped, this scratches a similar itch but in bite-sized form. It's wholesome, it's low-stakes, and the dynamic between a stubborn teenager and an even more stubborn cat carries the whole thing.
