Konoha being a secret gacha whale in the post credits scene made me laugh way too loud because she seems so composed until those loot boxes show up

The social commentary on the job market actually hit hard, especially since Satoko basically ended up doing the same assassin work for even less pay and more hours

A janitor sweeping Arisa into a dustpan while her landlord already shows her room to new tenants was such a cold way to handle a death

I can not believe Satoko actually found a job cleaning up crime scenes for the mob just because she was too honest about her age and got rejected everywhere else

Arisa having that huge monologue just to get killed and swept into the trash like a pile of leaves was so brutal but that dark humor is exactly why this show rules

Karyu finding out the servant is a master ninja was a great moment and the sword play in the rain really set the mood

the art style is very early 2000s and the action scenes are decent but the plot about the runaway ninja feels like a retread of stuff we have seen before

Karyu and Uzume fighting for their lives is the only reason to watch this and the actual ninja techniques look okay even if the rest of it is just okay

the way Uzume revealed she was actually a ninja was so cool and that final clash in the courtyard looked great

I really enjoyed the way this episode handled the duel between Karyu and Uzume because you could actually feel the stakes in their movements. The way Uzume revealed her ninja skills while working as a servant caught me off guard and the bloody choreography in the merchant house was way more detailed than the earlier episodes in this series.

Uzume is a total beast in that fight, and seeing her match Karyu move for move makes the ending feel like a real toss up.

Uzume hiding as a servant is a cool setup and that fight in the house goes way harder than you would expect from this kind of show

the writing in this episode is basically non existent and it feels like they just wanted an excuse to have ninjas doing adult stuff in the Edo period

I really liked how Uzume and Karyu fought in the merchant house and the animation for the blood was actually pretty good for an old OVA

the fight was fine and Karyu is cool but I think the story gets a bit lost in the adult scenes and it kills the momentum for me

Kuro losing all her money to gambling and having a secret girlfriend makes the show feel way more grounded and gritty than a normal ninja anime

I was laughing so hard when the post credits scene revealed Konoha was a huge gacha whale because it explains so much about why she is always broke

Watching Arisa struggle through those low pay shifts only to get killed and forgotten by her boss in five minutes was the darkest joke this show has done yet

The leaf ninjutsu is such a terrifying way to clean up evidence and Konoha just uses it like she is taking out the trash

I hate how much I relate to Satoko lying on her resume just to get a job and then seeing Arisa get replaced at her shift the next day was actually so depressing

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting third in a four-episode OVA, this episode arrives after the series has established its characters and conflicts, leaving little runway before the finale. Whatever threads were introduced in Episodes 1 and 2 are now converging, and 'Runaway Ninja' appears positioned as the pivotal turning point that directly feeds into the OVA's conclusion. Episode 4 will almost certainly serve as the resolution, making this chapter the critical pressure point where outcomes begin to crystallize.
