This hospital is a complete disaster and the way Kritana treats a patient is actually terrifying if you think about it for more than a second
soifong_stinger's avatar
soifong_stinger
The way they treat Yamada in this episode is basically a crime and you have to wonder why anyone still has a job at this place
nyanfishy's avatar

I am genuinely weirded out by how these nurses act and Yamada really needs to get out of that hospital before things get even more out of hand

Watching Yamada squirm while he waits for her to show up is so stressful and you can feel the air in the room change as soon as she walks in to help him

I really felt for Tachibana this time because her job is clearly taking a toll on her mental state, but she still refuses to let Yamada suffer and the way she looks at his broken hands and just sighs before starting the treatment made my heart sink because they both seem so trapped in this cycle of pain and shame and it is just tragic
shaytheotaku1's avatar

You really get to see how much Tachibana is sacrificing her own comfort for her patient and that level of dedication is pretty wild considering how much she complains
groudon's avatar

Tachibana barely says anything but her eyes say everything about how much she hates the situation and that look she gave him at the end was so brutal
kagamine_twins_495's avatar
kagamine_twins_495
The tension between them when it gets quiet is so thick and you can feel how awkward it is for both of them even though they do this every few hours

That scene where Yamada was crying from the pain hit me hard because I can tell he just wants to be normal again and not rely on her for this
faye_valentine's avatar
faye_valentine
The way the timer always seems to run out at the worst time makes every scene feel urgent, and Tachibana's disgusted face is actually kind of sad when you see her keep going anyway
ram_rage_145's avatar
ram_rage_145
Tachibana is so cold but you can tell she actually cares about her job and seeing her struggle with how she feels about Yamada made that final treatment scene feel so heavy

Yamada trying to apologize while he is in that much pain makes you realize how much he hates being a burden and it makes the hospital scenes feel so much heavier
viva550's avatar

I feel so bad for Yamada because he looks so miserable every time he has to ask for help and his guilt makes the whole situation way more intense
anouki's avatar

It actually surprised me when Tachibana almost cracked a smile after Yamada finished his ramblings about feeling like a burden, and it gave her some character depth beyond just being the grumpy nurse who hates her life as I think it made the whole weird situation feel more human than the earlier parts where she was just cold all the time

This felt like it dragged on way too much and Yamada crying about his hands for the tenth time started to get annoying
kodama_king's avatar

You can really see the budget went up for the animation during the treatment scenes and the way the lighting hits the hospital room made it look way better than the last part
chibiusa's avatar

I thought the part where Yamada tries to apologize for his condition was actually pretty sweet and it made Tachibana look a lot less mean for a second
mimikyaun's avatar

The shift in tone when Mia appeared was so sudden and her unstable energy makes every scene she is in feel like something is about to explode
windblight_ganon's avatar
windblight_ganon
Tachibana looks so done with her job in this one and seeing her just stare at him while waiting for the timer to go off was kind of awkward
uryu_archer_102's avatar
uryu_archer_102
The danger for Yamada feels so real now that Kangoshichou is on the warpath, and her obsession with keeping Mia happy is going to be the death of him

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at Episode 8 of 10, this is the concluding half of the Kiritani Chapter arc that began in Episode 7, placing it firmly in the series' late-stage run. With only two episodes remaining after this, the season is approaching its endgame, and the two-part structure here signals a deliberate shift toward longer-form storytelling before the finale. This episode bridges the Kiritani arc's resolution with whatever closing chapter the final two episodes will deliver.
