That medical logic about needing to go every three hours is so ridiculous and seeing him try to apologize for it while in pain was pretty uncomfortable

Nurse Tachibana is so mean to him and it makes the whole scene feel way more intense than it should be

yamada getting more desperate as the clock ticked down really added a lot of tension to the main scene

the animation during the physical therapy scene was actually pretty detailed and the way the focus stayed on her cold personality worked well

that tiny bit of sympathy tachibana showed for her patient really stuck with me, even if she still looks like she wants to be anywhere else in the world

tachibana looking down on him with that disgusted face during the climax of the treatment was easily the best highlight
dankan_dancer_475's avatar
dankan_dancer_475
the pacing slowed down a bit during the mid section and more of tachibana being vocal about how much she hates the situation would have been better

the way yamada cried from the pain and then immediately felt terrible for making tachibana help him hit me harder than i expected

the three hour limit keeps things moving fast and seeing him struggle with those casts on his hands was rough
gisell_ghoul_485's avatar
gisell_ghoul_485
i can't believe the art quality stayed this good for the second half because tachibana has some of the best expressions in this genre

The awkwardness between them doubled down this time, making the scenes feel much more intense. Yamada trying to hold back because of the guilt while Tachibana keeps a straight face creates a weirdly compelling dynamic. It is rare to see this much focus on the character conflict, especially with such a ridiculous medical premise and it makes the whole encounter feel earned

Tachibana looks so annoyed while doing her job and it makes the whole dynamic way better than a typical nurse story

The lighting in the hospital room during the night shift really set the mood, and seeing her internal conflict while she was helping him made the scene much more memorable

My heart broke when he tried to move his broken hands and failed and then she had to step in with that annoyed expression on her face

Tachibana is so mean but she still stays to help him and seeing her push through the disgust while he is in pain was the best part of the episode

The way the art style shifts when she looks at him with those cold eyes makes you feel like garbage and it really sells the whole reluctant nurse dynamic better than the first one did

I felt so bad for Yamada when he started apologizing for the treatment and Tachibana just stood there looking miserable while she worked and it made the whole scene feel way more intense

Her losing her patience with his constant whining about the three hour limit made the tension between them much more fun to watch

Tachibana losing her cool for a split second when he started complaining about the pain again really caught my attention. The animation for her facial expressions is actually pretty solid, and it really helps sell how much she hates her job. It is such a strange concept but you really cannot look away once it starts

Yamada trying to apologize for his medical condition while she just glares at him really sells the weird vibe of this episode

EPISODE CONTEXT

Following Episode 1's establishment of Yamada's condition and Tachibana's reluctant but obligated involvement, Episode 2 builds on that foundation by pressing harder on the emotional and ethical weight of their dynamic. This is still early in a 10-episode run, meaning the episode functions primarily as deepening groundwork rather than payoff. It sets the tone and relational stakes that subsequent episodes will continue to complicate and escalate.
