This episode delve deeper into the Japanese entertainment, and another episode focusing more on world building. But what's great with Oshi no Ko is that they do it so smoothly that it doesn't seem like info dumping. Truly an amazing show 9/10

Man, the acting world is brutal. Watching the "Sweet Today" production struggle because of the industry's politics was actually eye-opening. It’s cool seeing Kana Arima back, she’s got so much personality. The show does a great job of making you feel for these artists.

The first step towards Aqua's plan makes the viewer excited as a mystery to Ai unfolds. This also exposes a shocking truth in the manga-based-drama adaptation.

The way it shows the harsh reality of filming is so gritty. Aqua’s calculated moves are genius, and it's wild how they expose the industry like that.

In this captivating episode, Kana orchestrates a heartfelt reunion with Aqua, providing him the opportunity to shine and reveal his remarkable performance in the film.

This one is kinda funny but also kinda sad if you look closer. Big ego energy, but you can tell there’s insecurity under it. I love when a show lets characters be a little cringe.

Whenever the dark star appears in Aqua’s eyes, it doesn’t fail to send a chill down my spine. The ending of the episode leaves you with so much expectation for the next one. The build up from the start of the episode down to the last minute makes the anticipation land even harder.

Ep 3 shows that the way to the top really isn’t sunshine and rainbows with just sheer hard work. The animation quality really does a lot of heavy lifting imo in this anime. Even if the scenes aren’t too emotionally-heavy, normal everyday settings still feel good to watch.

Kana and Ruby’s outlook in this episode reminds us of the “ignorance is bliss” optimism that comes with youth as they try to navigate the entertainment industry. And Aqua’s calculated perspective and hidden motives add a darker layer, balancing the overall tone of the story.

The episode serves as a deep dive into the compromises required to succeed in acting, with Kana's dedication ultimately earning her respect despite the poor quality of the project. Great Presentation of new characters.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off Episode 2's 'Third Option,' where Aqua and Ruby began charting their separate paths through entertainment, Episode 3 narrows the focus onto Aqua's re-engagement with acting and introduces Kana Arima as a significant presence in his orbit. This episode serves as a thematic bridge — establishing the industry's darker mechanics before Episode 4's 'Actors' dives deeper into the craft and personal toll of performance. It's an essential early chapter that builds the foundation for the season's escalating drama.
